A limited addition, collection “The Dance of Colours” completes the series of naturally dyed and eco printed silk pillowcases I made this year. Natural silk is a healthy choice for your skin and hair, and you can be sure that there are no other items like this exists!

Natural dyes for this collection were derived from eucalyptus flowers, onion skins, marigold flowers, madder root, sappanwood, and chlorophyll. Botanically hand printed pillowcases match this dedicate colour scheme of soft green, yellow, orange and pink. For contact printing, a range of natural substances and locally available plant materials were used, including two types of eucalyptus leaves, casuarina, onion skins, marigold flowers, madder root, sappanwood, poinsettia, rose leaves, coreopsis and chrysanthemum flowers.

This wonderful collection of naturally dyed silk pillowcases is currently available from my Etsy shop angonature.etsy.com. There you can also find beautiful white silk pillowcases botanically printed with eucalyptus leaves and flowers I made at the end of 2023.

You have a chance to make a unique, luxuries, and eco-friendly gift to yourself or someone special. Let’s take care of our planet together!

Summer 2023-2024 Collection of eco-printed silk scarves

Let me introduce you to my new collection of hand printed silk scarves.
Eucalyptus is a star of this collection!
Light and summery scarves were printed with locally foraged leaves and flowers. To create this collection, I used three types of Eucalyptus and some plants from my garden, e.g. marigold, poinsettia, geranium, rose.
Two types of natural silk: luxury silk satin and semi-transparent habotai silk.
You’re welcome to see the whole variety at my Etsy shop

Logwood, Eucalyptus, Grevillea Collection.

Limited edition to my collection of scarves eco printed with local flora. This time, logwood was a star providing wonderful shades of purple. I worked with silk, wool and linen. You may see the whole range at https://www.etsy.com/au/shop/angonature.

Logwood can provide a wide color palette depending on the mordant and type of fabric used for dyeing. I intentionally kept the PH neutral to achieve desired shades of purple. Shifting the PH may result in color change from purple to magenta, cold blue-grey, dark grey, brown or even black.

Light blue indigo collection is out!

My first experiment with natural indigo resulted in a small collection of hand dyed scarves called “Light Blues”. From many options of working with natural indigo, I chose fructose vat method, the most safe and eco friendly. Fructose vat gives a softer blue, often greenish blue or teal, which I found very pleasant to the eyes. Interestingly, different fabrics took color differently and I got a range of blue tones from the same indigo vat.
